Mountain Miles is a dog walking service with a difference. Based on rugged landscape at the edge of the Peak District, they offer all-terrain adventures for energetic dogs.

The identity takes inspiration from outdoor lifestyle brands to give a sense of rugged adventure and outdoor pursuits

Mountain Miles was started by a friend who was keen to run his own business. He combined his knowledge of breeding Airedale terriers with his love of the outdoors to create Mountain Miles, an all-terrain dog walking service.

The brief was to give Mountain Miles an identity that stood them apart and sold their unique service. As a start-up the budget was tight so this limited the funds available for imagery, typefaces and print.

The identity was inspired by outdoor lifestyle brands to give a sense of rugged adventure and outdoor pursuits. To keep costs down, I sourced a free typeface that worked well set in caps and used personal images taken from the dog walks which also helped give the business an authentic voice.

The identity was applied to a number of items, including stationery, posters, flyers and a design for a custom dog jacket that could act as free advertising while out walking the dogs.

Using personal photos from the dog walks added authenticity and helped keep costs down
